Agreement to these terms

These terms of use ("Terms") govern access to and use of stowcase.app and www.stowcase.app (together, "Stowcase"). By requesting an invite, creating an account, or otherwise using Stowcase, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use Stowcase.

Who can use Stowcase

Stowcase is currently invite-only: access is granted at our discretion and may be limited, paused, or changed as the product develops. You must be at least 13 years old to use Stowcase, and any information you give us when requesting an invite or setting up an account must be accurate.

Your account

You're responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Let us know if you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission. You choose your own handle and display name, and you're responsible for what they contain.

Your content and public profiles

The titles, notes, ratings, and other details you add to your vault are yours. Your collection and wishlist are private by default. If you choose to make a profile public, the collection and wishlist details you've opted to share become visible to anyone with the link, and you're solely responsible for what you choose to publish, including any personal notes or details you decide to make public.

By making content public, you grant Stowcase a non-exclusive license to display it back to you and to other visitors as part of the public profile feature you enabled. We don't sell your content or use it to train unrelated products.

Image contributions

You may upload images for your own private catalog display. You keep any ownership rights you have in an image you upload. You represent that you created the image or otherwise have all rights and permissions needed to upload it and, if you submit it to Stowcase's shared image library, to allow Stowcase to use it as described here.

Private uploads remain visible only to you unless you separately submit them to the shared image library. Submission does not guarantee approval and does not automatically make an image Stowcase's default artwork. We may review, reject, hide, or remove an image to protect users, comply with law, address rights or privacy concerns, correct a catalog mismatch, or enforce these Terms.

By submitting an image to the shared image library, you grant Stowcase a perpetual, non-exclusive license to host, reproduce, technically normalize, display, and distribute the image as part of Stowcase. This license continues if you close your account or withdraw the contribution. Stowcase will still review and honor valid copyright, privacy, and safety takedown requests. Approved images may appear in other users' image pickers, as Stowcase's default catalog artwork, on opted-in public profiles, and on Stowcase's public catalog pages. Stowcase does not claim ownership of your contribution and does not use it to train unrelated products.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Stowcase for anything unlawful, or to infringe someone else's rights.
• Attempt to access another user's private collection, loan records, or account.
• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract data from Stowcase's public pages or API.
• Interfere with or disrupt Stowcase's infrastructure, including by circumventing rate limits or security controls.
• Impersonate another person, or publish a public profile containing content you don't have the right to share.

Third-party data, imports, and affiliate links

Stowcase uses third-party sources, including barcode lookup providers, TMDb, and Discogs, to help match and enrich the movies and music you catalog, and supports importing existing collections from services like Discogs, Blu-ray.com, and Goodreads. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for the accuracy of data they provide.

Some pages, including wishlist entries, may show a "Buy on Amazon" link. Stowcase participates in the Amazon Associates program and may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links, at no extra cost to you.

Availability and changes to Stowcase

Stowcase is under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or improvements. We'll try to give notice of significant changes where practical, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Termination

You can stop using Stowcase and request that your account be closed at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to Stowcase if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, or if we need to for security or legal reasons.

Disclaimers

Stowcase is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that barcode matches, pricing, artwork, or other third-party data will always be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stowcase and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data related to your cataloged collection.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as Stowcase evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and, where appropriate, let active users know. Continuing to use Stowcase after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Stowcase's operators, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
