The 40 Year-Old Virgin

2005 · 116 min · R

In a quiet suburban apartment, a shy and introverted 40-year-old man lives a solitary life, surrounded by a collection of action figures and video games. His coworkers at an electronics store, fueled by curiosity and a desire to help, discover his secret: he remains a virgin. Feeling humiliated and unsure of how to proceed, he confides in a friend who offers advice on how to navigate relationships. Various attempts at intimacy, however, end in embarrassment, leading his friends to devise a more effective plan. As he navigates the challenges of adult life, the man finds solace in a kind-hearted single mother, Trish, who encourages his entrepreneurial dreams and gradually wins his heart. Ultimately, with the support of those around him, he must confront his past and accept a new beginning.
