Marty McFly is pulled out of retirement to rescue his friend Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, who has been transported back in time to 1885. Stranded in 1955, Marty travels to 1885 with the intention of saving Doc, but complications arise when Doc falls in love with Clara Clayton. In this adventure, Marty must navigate the Wild West and confront the past to return Doc to his own time. Filmed on location in California and Arizona, the film was part of a two-part production, released just six months after its predecessor and grossing $245 million worldwide. Critics praised the film as an improvement over its predecessor.
