Sela Ward

She began her career as an actress, landing her first film role in the 1983 Burt Reynolds vehicle The Man Who Loved Women. Ward then secured a regular role in the short-lived CBS series Emerald Point N.A.S. as a socialite. Throughout the 1980s, she appeared in various TV and movie guest roles, including a notable part opposite Tom Hanks in Nothing in Common. In 1991, she joined the cast of Sisters, earning her first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1994. Ward played the wife of Dr. Richard Kimble in The Fugitive and later portrayed the late TV journalist Jessica Savitch in the 1995 TV movie Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story. This experience led her to produce a documentary about the societal impact of beauty standards on women.
