Portia De Rossi

Amanda Lee Rogers, later known as Portia de Rossi, was born in Horsham, Victoria, Australia, and began modeling as a child, appearing in several television commercials. She made her film debut in the comedy Sirens in 1994 and moved to Los Angeles in 1995, starting guest roles on TV shows like Ally McBeal and Chicago Hope. De Rossi's breakout role came when she was cast as Nelle Porter on Ally McBeal in 1998, earning her a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries or Television Film. After Ally McBeal ended in 2002, de Rossi continued working in film and television, starring in Stigmata and Girl, and later taking on roles in Arrested Development, Better Off Ted, and Scandal.
