Lilly Wachowski

The Wachowskis made their directing debut with the film Bound, followed by the major box-office success of The Matrix in 1999, for which they won the Saturn Award for Best Director. They went on to write and direct two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, and were involved in the writing and production of other works within the Matrix franchise. In addition to their work in the Matrix series, they co-wrote and co-directed the 2012 film Cloud Atlas, based on the novel by David Mitchell. Their subsequent films included Jupiter Ascending and The Matrix Resurrections, the latter released in 2021.
