Director
John McTiernan
Campbell McTiernan began his career as a writer and producer in the action film genre, making notable entries with films such as Predator and Die Hard. His subsequent work included The Hunt for Red October, Last Action Hero, and The 13th Warrior. However, his professional life took a significant downturn following a series of legal issues. McTiernan initially pleaded guilty to a crime in 2006, but the judgment was later vacated. He then pleaded guilty to both the original charge and an additional count of perjury, related to the unauthorized wiretapping of phone calls. As a result, McTiernan served time in federal prison before being released in 2014. After his incarceration, he struggled financially and faced exclusion from the Hollywood industry, remaining without a new film directing gig until a brief return to advertising work in 2017.
