Hugo Weaving
Born in Colonial Nigeria to English parents, Hugo Weaving later resided in Australia throughout his career. He began acting with a major role as English cricket captain Douglas Jardine on the Australian television series Bodyline. Weaving gained prominence with appearances in the films Proof and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, winning his first AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the former. He then achieved international recognition through mainstream American productions, starring in films such as The Matrix trilogy, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, and Captain America: The First Avenger. Additionally, Weaving has provided voice-over roles in films like Babe and Happy Feet, as well as voicing Megatron in the Transformers series.
