Edward James Olmos
Olmos began his acting career as Detective Gaff in Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic Blade Runner, alongside Harrison Ford, before landing the role of Jaime Escalante in the critically acclaimed drama Stand and Deliver, which showcased his ability to portray complex characters. As Lieutenant Martin "Marty" Castillo in the popular television series Miami Vice, Olmos earned widespread recognition and critical acclaim, ultimately winning the 1985 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film. This success paved the way for Olmos to take on diverse roles, including his portrayal of Abraham Quintanilla in the biographical drama Selena, and his continued exploration of themes relevant to Hispanic culture in U.S. media.
