Courtney Love

Born to countercultural parents in San Francisco, Courtney Love drew inspiration from her unconventional upbringing, moving frequently between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon, before settling in Portland and becoming involved in the local punk scene. She began performing in short-lived bands, including one in Los Angeles with guitarist Eric Erlandson, who would later become a key member of Hole. Love's music career gained momentum after forming the alternative rock band Hole in 1989, with whom she released critically acclaimed albums such as Live Through This in 1994 and Celebrity Skin in 1998. Her acting career also flourished, earning her a Golden Globe Award nomination for her role in The People vs. Larry Flynt in 1996.
