Annette Bening

Bening began her career on stage, performing with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival company in 1980 before joining the American Conservatory Theater, where she played Lady Macbeth in 1984. She made her Broadway debut in 1987 in Tina Howe's Coastal Disturbances, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play. Her breakthrough came with her film debut in 1988, followed by notable performances in The Grifters and American Beauty, both earning her Academy Award nominations. Bening went on to win a BAFTA Award and Golden Globe for Best Actress for her roles in Being Julia and The Kids Are All Right, respectively.
