Born into an acting family, Amanda Peet began her career with small roles on television, including her breakout part in Animal Room. Her portrayal of Jill St. Claire in The Whole Nine Yards marked her entry into wider recognition, leading to appearances in various films like Saving Silverman, High Crimes, and Something's Gotta Give. She continued to diversify her roles, taking on characters in Change Lanes, Igby Goes Down, and Syriana, among others. Peet also had notable TV stints, starring as Jacqueline Barrett on Jack & Jill and Tina Morris on Togetherness, before landing the role of Jules on Brockmire. In addition to acting, Peet ventured into writing and producing, creating the Netflix series The Chair.
