The world is on the brink of destruction as a massive solar flare heats the Earth's core, causing widespread devastation in the form of devastating earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and massive tsunamis. Amidst this chaos, novelist Jackson Curtis discovers that the world's crust is becoming increasingly unstable, and a select few must find a way to escape the impending catastrophe. As Jackson navigates this treacherous landscape, he teams up with geologist Adrian Helmsley, who has warned the US President about the impending doom. Together, they join a desperate quest to find a safe haven, racing against time to secure a spot on one of nine "arks" built in Tibet, while struggling to save their loved ones amidst the apocalyptic chaos unfolding around them.
