Austin Powers in Goldmember

2002

From the lair behind the Hollywood Sign, Dr. Evil reveals his plan for world domination, teaming up with the gold-obsessed Johan van der Smut, aka Goldmember, to pull a meteor into the earth using a tractor beam. Meanwhile, Austin Powers is knighted by Queen Elizabeth for his service, but he is disappointed when his father, Nigel Powers, doesn't attend the ceremony. After a kidnapping, Austin seeks help from imprisoned Dr. Evil, leading him to 1975, where he reunites with his former lover Foxxy Cleopatra and discovers that his father is being held captive by Goldmember. Infiltrating Goldmember's roller disco club, Austin teams up with Foxxy to stop the plan, but they soon realize that Dr. Evil and Goldmember have escaped and are planning to launch the tractor beam from a submarine. As the story unfolds, alliances are formed and broken, including between Austin and his brother Dr. Evil, and ultimately, Austin and Foxxy succeed in stopping the plan and saving the world.
