SUNRISE

Sunrise began its operations in September 1972 under the name Sunrise Studio. The studio initially operated as an independent entity before splitting from Shoeisha and film distributor Tohokushinsha in 1977, leading to a rebranding to Nippon Sunrise two years later. It took on its current name, Sunrise, in 1987 after 22 years as a separate company. In 1994, Sunrise was acquired by toy manufacturer Bandai, which merged with video game publisher Namco to form Bandai Namco Holdings in 2005. Over the years, the studio has produced numerous critically acclaimed anime series, including the Gundam series, Code Geass, and the Inuyasha series, showcasing its diverse range of works.
