Takashi Shimura
Takashi Shimura began his acting career in 1934, appearing in numerous films throughout his long career. He collaborated extensively with renowned director Akira Kurosawa, starring in 21 of his 30 films, including Drunken Angel, Rashomon, Ikiru, and Seven Samurai. In addition to these notable works, Shimura played key roles in several classic monster movies, such as Godzilla and its sequels. Throughout his illustrious career, Shimura received recognition for his contributions to the arts, including being awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 1974 and the Order of the Rising Sun, 4th Class, Gold Rays with Rosette in 1980.
