Simon Callow

He originated the title role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the 1979 Peter Shaffer play Amadeus, for which he received a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role nomination. This led to his involvement in the 1984 Miloš Forman film adaptation, where he portrayed Emanuel Schikaneder. He also won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Director of a Musical for Carmen Jones in 1992. Notable film roles include Maurice, Howards End, Shakespeare in Love, and The Phantom of the Opera, among others. Callow's television appearances range from Tom Chance in the series Chance in a Million to his portrayal of The Duke of Sandringham in Outlander, as well as roles in Midsomer Murders, Rome, Angels in America, Doctor Who, Galavant, Hawkeye, and The Witcher.
