Sean McClory
Born in Dublin, Ireland, but raised in Galway, Sean McClory joined Dublin's Abbey Theater, rising through the ranks to play leading roles in comedies popular during the 1940s and 1950s. As comedies faded after World War II, McClory transitioned to film, making his Hollywood debut in 1947 with roles as an Irish cop in the Dick Tracy series. He then signed a short contract with 20th Century-Fox, appearing in more notable films, including The Glass Menagerie, before landing a significant role in John Ford's The Quiet Man, alongside Maureen O'Hara, where he also appeared in Cheyenne Autumn and The Long Gray Line.
