Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel Leroy Jackson began his career on stage, making his professional theatre debut in Mother Courage and her Children at The Public Theatre in 1980. He later originated roles in A Soldier's Play Off-Broadway from 1981 to 1983 and August Wilson's The Piano Lesson at the Yale Repertory Theatre in 1987, reprising the role in the 2022 Broadway revival. Early film roles included Coming to America, Goodfellas, and Jurassic Park, followed by notable collaborations with Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino, including School Daze, Do the Right Thing, Mo' Better Blues, Jungle Fever, and Pulp Fiction, which earned him a BAFTA Award and an Oscar nomination. This success led to appearances in numerous big-budget films, including Die Hard with a Vengeance, A Time to Kill, The Negotiator, and Unbreakable.
