Molly Ringwald

Born after her breakthrough role as Molly in the NBC sitcom The Facts of Life, Molly Ringwald was discovered by a casting director while performing as an orphan in a stage production of the musical Annie. Her film debut came in the independent movie Tempest, earning her a Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year. Ringwald gained widespread recognition for her collaborations with filmmaker John Hughes, starring in iconic teen films such as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty in Pink. She continued to act in various films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including The Pick-up Artist, Fresh Horses, and Something to Live for: The Alison Gertz Story.
