Connolly began his acting career at six, landing television commercials including the "Betcha bite a chip" campaign for Chips Ahoy!. His early work expanded into film, with his first role as Chickie in Rocky V in 1990. Connolly's breakthrough came with the television sitcom Unhappily Ever After, where he played Ryan Malloy, the eldest son. This led to more prominent roles, cementing his presence in the entertainment industry.
