Jack MacGowran
John Joseph MacGowran trained at the Dublin Institute of Technology before transitioning into acting. His early career involved stage work, particularly with the Gate Theatre in Dublin. MacGowran's association with playwright Samuel Beckett led to numerous collaborations, including several productions at the Theatre de Ville in Paris. One of his notable roles was as the lead in Beckett's play "Waiting for Godot." In addition to his theatrical work, MacGowran also appeared in films, including "The Exorcist," where he played the role of Burke Dennings, a troubled film director struggling with alcoholism.
