Indian Representative
Irshad Panjatan
Irshad Panjatan began his artistic career in India, working at the renowned Hindustani Theatre, where he initially acted and later directed. In the 1950s, he developed a specialization in pantomime, drawing inspiration from Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, making him one of the earliest proponents of this art form in India. Panjatan went on to perform internationally with solo programs starting in the 1960s, and after living in Berlin since the 1970s, he operated a pantomime studio alongside his wife Ingrid. His breakthrough role came in 2001 when he played the Shoshone chief "Listiger Lurch" in Michael Herbig's film *Der Schuh des Manitu*, leading to further appearances in various German film and television productions.
