Eiko Miyoshi

Born in Tokyo as Haru Miyata, Eiko Miyoshi later took her husband's surname after marriage to become Haru Morita. Following the Second World War, renowned director Akira Kurosawa requested her entry into the film industry. At the age of 52, Miyoshi made her debut in Kurosawa's 1946 film No Regrets for My Youth. This marked the beginning of a prolific career, during which she collaborated with multiple prominent directors, including Kurosawa, Keisuke Kinoshita, Mikio Naruse, and Yasujirō Ozu, among others. Throughout the 1950s, she appeared in numerous films by these notable Japanese directors.
