Dennis Shryack
Dennis Shryack began his career as a singer in the Escorts quartet, touring with notable artists like Sammy Davis Jr. and Sophie Tucker. After working as a mailroom worker at Universal Pictures, he transitioned into screenwriting, producing his first screenplay for the 1969 Western comedy film The Good Guys and the Bad Guys. He went on to collaborate with various stars, including Chuck Norris and Clint Eastwood, and co-wrote the screenplay for Pale Rider, a highly successful Western film directed by Eastwood. Shryck also partnered with other writers, such as Michael Butler and Michael Blodgett, on several projects, including Flashpoint, Rent-a-Cop, and Cadence. He successfully negotiated a record-breaking $1 million for the script of Turner & Hooch, and later became a literary agent before returning to his hometown of Duluth.
