Claude Zidi

Zidi began his career as a film director and screenwriter. His breakthrough came in the early 1970s, marking him as a director of comedies. Many of these films achieved significant commercial success in France. By the end of the decade, he had established himself as one of France's leading directors during this period. Zidi continued to direct successful comedies throughout the following decades before winning the César Award for Best Director in 1985 for his film My New Partner. This award highlighted his prominent position within French cinema at the time.
