Cameron Michelle Diaz was born on August 30, 1972, in San Diego, California. Raised in Long Beach, she began her career as a model after signing with Elite Model Management while still in high school. Diaz made her film debut at 21 in the comedy The Mask (1994) and gained widespread recognition for her role in the Farrelly brothers' comedy There's Something About Mary (1998). Throughout her career, she has appeared in a range of films, including dramas like Vanilla Sky (2001) and Gangs of New York (2002), as well as action comedies like Charlie's Angels (2000) and its sequel. Diaz has received numerous awards and nominations, including four Golden Globe Awards, and was named the highest-paid actress over 40 in 2013.
