Brendan Fraser

Fraser began his acting career after being trained in dance and gymnastics, which he showcased in the 1992 comedy film Encino Man alongside Sean Astin and Pauly Shore. This breakthrough led to starring roles in other films such as With Honors, George of the Jungle, and The Mummy trilogy, cementing his status as a leading comedic actor. As his career progressed, he expanded into more dramatic roles in films like Gods and Monsters and The Quiet American. After experiencing a decline in his film work in the late 2000s, Fraser transitioned to television, appearing in shows such as The Affair and Doom Patrol. His portrayal of an obese gay man in Darren Aronofsky's The Whale earned him widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Actor.
