Alan Rickman

Rickman trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he performed in various productions, including a notable role as the Vicomte de Valmont in Les Liaisons Dangereuses. This led to nominations for a Tony Award and a starring role in the 1988 film Die Hard, where he played the German terrorist leader Hans Gruber. He went on to appear in numerous films, including Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Galaxy Quest, and the Harry Potter series, where he portrayed Severus Snape. Rickman also had a successful television career, starting with his breakout role in The Barchester Chronicles, followed by notable performances in television films like Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny and Something the Lord Made, earning him multiple awards, including a Golden Globe Award.
