Walt Disney Pictures

The Walt Disney Company founded the film production company Walt Disney Pictures as a subsidiary of its studios, with its roots dating back to the 1920s when Disney began producing live-action films. Initially part of the Walt Disney Studios unit, the division evolved into a standalone entity in 1983 after Disney separated from its feature animation division and established Touchstone Pictures. Under this new structure, Walt Disney Pictures expanded its output and became one of Hollywood's major film studios, eventually joining other prominent divisions such as Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm. With notable releases like Zootopia 2 and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the studio has solidified its position as a leading player in the live-action film industry.
