The Weinstein Company

Bob Weinstein co-founded The Weinstein Company in New York City in March 2005 alongside his brother Harvey. The company grew into a major player in the US film industry, but faced significant challenges after Harvey Weinstein was fired in October 2017 amid numerous allegations of misconduct. Following this, the company struggled financially and ultimately declared bankruptcy in February 2018. A planned buyout deal collapsed, and the company sold its assets for $500 million, before the deal fell through again due to an undisclosed debt. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 19, 2018, and was later acquired by Lantern Capital in May 2018.
