Artisan Entertainment

Artisan Entertainment was founded in 1983 and operated as a significant player in the home video market until its merger with Lions Gate Entertainment in December 2003. Prior to this, the company acquired and distributed numerous film libraries, including those of Republic Pictures, ITC Entertainment, and Miramax Films. As a result, Artisan's extensive catalog featured a range of titles, such as Requiem for a Dream, Pi, and The Blair Witch Project. The company's headquarters were based in Santa Monica, California, while it also maintained an office in Manhattan's Tribeca district.
