A24

Daniel Katz, David Fenkel, and John Hodges co-founded A24 after leaving their previous film and production roles to specialize in film distribution. The company started releasing films in 2012 with Roman Coppola's A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III and Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers, with the latter becoming a key factor in A24's early growth. In 2013, A24 partnered with Amazon Prime Video and DirecTV Cinema, and two years later, they changed their name to simply A24. This change occurred around the time of the critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning film Moonlight, which premiered in 2016 and went on to win three Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
