20th Century Studios
The studio was founded on May 31 by the merger of Fox Film Corporation and Twentieth Century Pictures, making it one of the original "Big Five" among eight majors of Hollywood's Golden Age. Over the years, it underwent significant changes, including a 1985 acquisition by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, which later rebranded as 21st Century Fox in 2013. Following a 2019 deal with Disney, the studio's assets were acquired, leading to its adoption of a new name in 2020 to avoid confusion with Fox Corporation. Today, 20th Century Studios operates under the umbrella of Walt Disney Studios, distributing and marketing films through its subsidiary, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, alongside other live-action and animation divisions.
